About this event
Indigenous Perspectives Society: Centre of Excellence in Community Education (IPS) offers Recruitment and Retention of Indigenous Peoples for all audiences. This 3.5 hour workshop provides an overview of best practices for recruiting and retaining Indigenous employees.
Workshop attendees will cover all aspects of the hiring and retention process through a lens of cultural safety, as well as learning about barriers in the process for Indigenous employees. Attendees will have the opportunity to reflect on their own hiring and recruitment practices, and develop calls to action and strategies for improving systems and processes.
What Will You Learn? Establish a workplace environment where there is cultural safety and agility Develop an understanding of job posting language and locations that attract Indigenous people Utilize culturally congruent recruitment and interview processes
