Hosted at Newlab during Climate Week NYC, the event examines the critical challenge of closing the gap between laboratory innovation and market adoption through panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, and cross-sector collaboration. ⸻ Event Description (Long) Sustainable Design Impact Hub: Fashion × Deep Tech Edition convenes leaders across fashion, advanced materials, biotechnology, robotics, manufacturing, academia, and investment to explore how climate technologies move from the laboratory into the marketplace. Hosted at Newlab in the Brooklyn Navy Yard during Climate Week NYC, the event recognizes fashion as a powerful commercialization pathway for deep technologies—from next-generation fibers and biofabrication to advanced manufacturing and circular production systems. Through a curated program of keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, a solutions exhibition, and networking experiences, participants will examine the infrastructure required to scale climate innovation. Topics include commercialization pathways, capital allocation, research translation, manufacturing readiness, workforce development, and cross-sector collaboration. The Sustainable Design Impact Hub has previously convened innovation ecosystems in Biella, Italy;Washington, D.C.;and Grenada, creating place-based conversations that connect local expertise with global solutions.
