Higher Tiers of NECB and High-Performance Standards for Building Officials (BC)
About this event
A four-session online training program from Passive House Canada for building officials in British Columbia, developed with support from Natural Resources Canada's Codes Acceleration Fund. It prepares building officials, inspectors, plans examiners, code administrators and policy advisors to review and approve high-performance building projects under the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) and its higher tiers.
Live, instructor-led sessions run from 9 am to noon Pacific on four Mondays in November and cover building enclosure requirements, mechanical systems, energy modelling and plan-checking procedures. The course aims to help municipalities speed up approvals, reduce reliance on outsourced reviews and strengthen compliance with Canada's evolving building performance standards. It totals 12 hours and carries CPD credits.
