High-Performance Homes in the North: Lessons for Builders & Communities
About this event
A free interactive webinar on designing and building high-performance, energy-efficient homes in Northern BC, held in conjunction with National Housing Day. It is a collaboration between the Community Energy Association's (CEA) Building a Legacy program and the Northern BC Climate Action Network (NorthCAN), aimed at contractors, builders, trades, architects, engineers, energy advisors, educators, and local and Indigenous government staff.
Two project teams present their work: BC's northernmost Step 5 home, in Atlin, and multi-family homes in Witset that use on-site power generation and prefabricated components made with northern BC wood. A facilitated discussion follows, covering lessons learned, real performance data, capital and operating costs, and the grants and rebates that offset them. The webinar is approved for BC Housing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, and registrants receive the slides and recording.
