From “Nice to Haves” to Core Requirements: A Holistic Approach to Deforestation and Conversion-Free Supply Chains

About this event
An hour-long Trellis webinar on deforestation and conversion-free (DCF) supply chains, aimed at companies whose commitments have so far focused mainly on deforestation. It makes the case that ending the conversion and degradation of all natural ecosystems, and protecting the rights of Indigenous peoples and local communities, are core requirements of a credible DCF commitment rather than optional extras.
The session covers the core elements of DCF supply chains beyond deforestation-free, new tools for assessing and mitigating the risk of converting non-forest ecosystems such as grasslands, savannas and wetlands, expert insight on forest degradation risk, and guidance on putting Indigenous and community rights commitments into practice. Speakers come from Pure Strategies, Trellis Group, the Accountability Framework initiative (AFi) and Rainforest Alliance, and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). Registrants who cannot attend live receive the recording.
